What is Venus Viva Technology?
Venus VivaTM treatment is the newest FDA-cleared procedure for skin resurfacing. It works by pressing tiny pins into the skin while the handset simultaneously delivers heat, using Nano Fractional Radio FrequencyTM (RF), which creates micro-wounds that stimulate the skin’s collagen-producing healing response. These RF pulses are computer controlled with Venus Viva’s SmartScanTM technology. It provides a safe, non-invasive, long-lasting solution to a wide range of skin issues including wrinkles, acne scars, uneven pigmentation, and stretch marks. It can be used in all skin types, including darker skin, since the radiofrequency energy can be tuned to target specific pigments.
What is Nano Fractional RF Technology?
Nano fractional radio frequency pulses emit heat from 160 micro needles into the skin. The heat kills skin cells, causing the formation of very small microscopic pores. When skin cells are killed in these pores, it promotes the formation of new collagen fibrils which fill the microscopic pores. Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. It has many important functions in the human body, including providing your skin with structure and elasticity. The new collagen causes new healthy skin to form.
What to Expect from the Treatment?
Prior to the treatment, a medical technician will apply anesthetic gel to the skin of the area to be treated. The applicator has 160 pins that will slightly penetrate the skin, but most patients only feel minor discomfort. Venus VivaTM micro needling can induce warming and sensitivity in the skin that usually subsides within a few hours. The skin will turn red but will return to its normal color within 24 hours.
