Many signs of aging can be addressed with simple injectable treatments that target specific concerns. Wrinkles, volume loss, and facial asymmetry can be improved with treatments that work beneath the skin’s surface. Neuromodulators and dermal fillers offer a fast and effective way to achieve noticeable results without downtime.

At Ambiance MD Medical Spa in Green Bay, WI, we offer a wide range of injectable options to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. Neuromodulators like Botox® and Dysport® reduce muscle activity to soften expression lines, while dermal fillers like Restylane® and JUVÉDERM® restore volume and smooth facial contours. Each treatment is performed with an eye for natural-looking results that fit your personal aesthetic. What Are Cosmetic Injectables?

Cosmetic injectables are any type of aesthetic treatment that is performed through injections. They target signs of aging by relaxing facial muscles or restoring lost volume. Neuromodulators reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles by limiting muscle movement, while dermal fillers add structure and fullness to areas that have thinned over time.

Why Choose Injectable Treatments?

They Are Non-Surgical

Anti-aging injections can smooth wrinkles, contour facial features, and restore volume, all without surgery. These treatments require only a few precise injections to target facial muscles or replenish lost volume. Because surgical techniques are not used, recovery is minimal, and patients can return to normal activities right away.

They Are Customizable and Adjustable

The effects of neuromodulators and dermal fillers are not permanent, which makes them flexible options for refining your results. Neuromodulators can be adjusted with each session to maintain natural movement, while fillers can be added and layered for subtle enhancements or dissolved if desired. This approach allows for adjustments based on how your skin changes and how your preferences evolve.

They Offer Natural-Looking Results

When placed correctly, anti-aging injections soften lines and enhance facial contours without looking artificial. Professional Botox injections smooth creases while maintaining normal expressions, and fillers restore volume in a way that complements your natural features. The goal is not to erase movement or overfill the skin, but to refresh your appearance in a way that looks balanced and proportionate.

Treatments Are Fast and Comfortable

Most injections take only a few minutes and require little to no preparation. A fine needle delivers the product, and numbing options can be used to minimize sensation. Treatments are quick and well-tolerated, with results that appear gradually over the next few days.

What Are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators limit muscle activity to reduce the appearance of wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. These injections target specific areas and work locally, affecting only the injected muscles. They can also help prevent deeper lines from forming by keeping muscles relaxed. Results develop gradually, typically within a few days, and last for several months before a follow-up treatment is needed to maintain results.

What Do Neuromodulators Treat?

  • Crow’s Feet: These fine lines form at the corners of the eyes from years of smiling, squinting, and blinking. Neuromodulators relax the muscles around the eyes to soften these wrinkles while keeping expressions natural.
  • Forehead Lines: Repeated eyebrow movement leads to horizontal creases across the forehead. A few targeted injections smooth these lines, preventing them from deepening while maintaining natural facial movement.
  • Frown Lines: Also called “11 lines,” these vertical creases between the eyebrows can give the face a tired or tense appearance. Neuromodulators reduce muscle activity in this area and soften the lines.
  • Platysma Bands: The vertical bands in the neck become more prominent over time due to muscle movement and skin laxity. By relaxing the platysma muscle, neuromodulators help smooth the neck’s appearance.
  • Migraines: Some patients find relief from chronic migraines with neuromodulator treatments. The injections help reduce muscle tension and limit the nerve signals that contribute to headaches.
  • Other Applications: Neuromodulators can offer wrinkle reduction for other dynamic lines on the face. They are also used for a lip flip, a treatment that relaxes the muscles around the upper lip to create a subtle, natural-looking lift.

Botox in Green Bay, WI

Botox is a widely used neuromodulator and a name that most of our patients are already familiar with. We use Botox for wrinkles and fine lines, and also for medical purposes. This product is FDA-approved for four different facial treatment areas, the forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, and platysma bands. Because of its long track record in cosmetic medicine, it is trusted for its consistent results and its convenience. It can provide long-lasting aging results for patients seeking minimally invasive options.

What Can Botox Treat?

Botox for Wrinkles and Fine Lines

Botox is a convenient option because it is approved for several different areas of the face. Most neuromodulators are only indicated for frown lines, but Botox also has FDA approval to treat crow’s feet and horizontal forehead lines. We can treat all three zones in the same session to smooth the entire upper face and create a more refreshed appearance without changing how your face moves. Results are noticeable in a few days, and the effects can last for several months.

If you are considering Botox for wrinkles and fine lines, we can help you determine which areas will respond best and how the treatment can be adjusted to fit your natural expressions and facial features.

Botox for Migraines

Botox is also used for chronic migraines and is injected into specific areas of the head, neck, and shoulders. These injections target muscle tension and nerve pathways that contribute to migraine pain, which helps to reduce both the frequency and intensity of headaches. You may receive injections in multiple locations, including the forehead, temples, back of the head, and along the neck and shoulders. Most patients experience relief for about three or four months before a follow-up treatment is needed.

Botox Lip Flip

A Botox lip flip enhances the upper lip’s appearance by relaxing the muscles around the mouth. This allows the upper lip to roll slightly outward and creates the look of fuller lips without adding volume. The injections are placed just above the lip line and take effect within a few days. Botox lip flips are different from lip fillers in that they use the natural volume of your lips but relax muscles to allow more of this volume to be visible.

Botox for Wrinkle Prevention

Using Botox preventatively can help keep fine lines from becoming deeper and more noticeable. By relaxing the muscles before lines fully settle in, we can slow how quickly certain wrinkles form. Younger patients can choose this approach to maintain smoother skin while still keeping natural movement. It works best when we target the specific areas where early muscle activity is already starting to show.

How Botox Treatments Vary by Goal and Area

While we use the same formula for all of our Botox treatments, there will be differences in the way that we use the product. The dosage, depth, and number of injection points can all vary depending on the area and the concern. Certain muscles need more precision, while others need a broader effect. For cosmetic uses, we usually focus on small, balanced changes that still allow for natural movement. When we treat medical concerns like migraines or jaw tension, we may use higher doses and target deeper muscles.

What to Expect From Botox Treatments

Before Botox

We recommend avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and certain supplements like fish oil and vitamin E for a couple of days before your Botox treatment. These can increase your chances of bruising. Let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any medical conditions we should consider. If it is your first time, we will take a few extra minutes to talk through your goals and map out a plan. You do not need to prepare much, but coming in with a clean face and no makeup helps us get started right away.

What to Expect From Botox Treatments

We use a fine needle to place small amounts of Botox into specific muscles. Most people feel only a brief pinch during each injection. The entire treatment usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. You can get back to your day right after your treatment, but we will ask you to avoid lying down for four hours after treatment and to stay away from exercising for the rest of the day. Expect a few small red spots at the injection sites, which usually fade quickly.

Botox Results Timeline and Maintenance Tips

You may start to see results in about three to five days, with full improvements at around two weeks. If it is your first treatment, we may schedule a follow-up visit to check your results and make any small adjustments. Most patients return every three to four months to maintain a smooth, refreshed look. To help your results last, avoid rubbing the area and try to stay upright for several hours after your treatment. Using a daily sunscreen can also protect your skin and support longer-lasting results.

Is Botox Right for You?

Botox works well for adults who want to soften wrinkles, prevent lines from settling in, or treat concerns like migraines, jaw tension, or a gummy smile. If you have strong facial muscle movement or notice lines starting to form, you may be a good candidate. We can talk through your goals and evaluate your facial anatomy to see if Botox makes sense for you. Every treatment plan starts with a careful look at how your muscles move and where you would benefit most.

Additional Neuromodulator Options

Daxxify®

Daxxify is a longer-lasting neuromodulator that offers extended wrinkle-smoothing effects. While most neuromodulators last around three to four months, Daxxify can maintain results for up to six months or more. It may be right for patients who prefer fewer appointments throughout the year. Its formulation contains a peptide that helps it bind effectively to nerve receptors, which leads to its potentially longer-lasting effects.

Dysport®

Dysport spreads more easily than other neuromodulators and can be useful for treating larger areas. This quality also allows for a softer, more diffused result, which some patients prefer for a natural look. It also takes effect slightly faster than Botox, with some patients noticing changes within 24 to 48 hours. Those with stronger facial muscles or deeper lines may choose Dysport for its ability to distribute smoothly across treated areas.

Jeuveau®

Jeuveau is formulated specifically for cosmetic use and is sometimes referred to as “Newtox”. Some patients find that Jeuveau provides a slightly stronger effect or a faster onset. It can be a good option for those looking to explore different neuromodulators to see which works best for them. Because it is designed solely for aesthetic purposes, it is often chosen by patients focused on facial rejuvenation.

Choosing Between Botox and Other Neuromodulators

Each neuromodulator has its own strengths, and we choose the one that best fits your specific situation. Some products work faster, some spread more broadly, and others last a bit longer in certain areas. We look at your goals, muscle strength, and previous treatment history before deciding which option to use. If you have used Botox before and liked the results, we may stay with this treatment. If you have unique circumstances or are looking for a different option, one of our other products may be right for you.

Botox Lip Flip vs. Lip Fillers: What Is the Difference?

A Botox lip flip uses small amounts of Botox to relax the muscles around the upper lip, which helps the lip roll slightly outward and appear fuller. Lip fillers add actual volume by placing a soft gel beneath the skin to enhance shape, structure, and definition. If you want a subtle boost or want to improve a gummy smile, the lip flip may be a better fit. If you are looking for more noticeable volume or want to reshape the lips, lip fillers usually offer more dramatic results.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers restore volume and enhance facial contours by replenishing lost structure beneath the skin. Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that attracts moisture and provides subtle plumping effects. Depending on the formulation, fillers can smooth wrinkles, enhance lips, contour the jawline, or restore fullness to the cheeks with results that last from several months to over a year.

What Do Dermal Fillers Treat?

Wrinkles, Lines, and Folds

Facial movement, sun exposure, and collagen loss contribute to deep creases. Wrinkle reduction with dermal fillers smooths areas like nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and fine lines around the mouth by restoring lost volume beneath the skin. These fillers also do more than fill lines by improving skin hydration and elasticity for a softer, more refreshed appearance.

Volume Loss

As collagen and fat decrease with age, certain areas of the face can start to look more hollow or sunken. Cosmetic injectables are used to restore fullness to areas like the cheeks, temples, and under-eye hollows. The results can be subtle or more defined, depending on the type of filler used and your goals.

Facial Contouring and Augmentation

Fillers can refine and enhance facial features without surgery. Adding structure to the jawline, chin, or cheeks can create a more balanced profile, while lip fillers subtly improve shape and definition. These treatments offer precise control over contouring and make it possible to achieve natural-looking enhancement with minimal downtime.

Our Dermal Filler Options

JUVÉDERM is a family of hyaluronic acid-based fillers. These products have a smooth gel consistency, which allows for natural-looking results that blend seamlessly with facial tissue. The formulas vary in thickness and longevity, so we can treat everything from fine lines to volume loss. Some JUVÉDERM products also contain lidocaine for a more comfortable injection experience. We offer several different JUVÉDERM products including:

Restylane

Restylane is another family of hyaluronic acid-based fillers, known for products with a firmer gel consistency. Restylane is ideal for lip enhancement and treating the lines around the mouth. Areas commonly treated included the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Restylane offers long-lasting results that can be adjusted over time.

Botox or Fillers: Which Is Right for You?

The right choice depends on the type of wrinkles you want to treat. Dynamic wrinkles come from repeated muscle movement, like frown lines or crow’s feet, and respond best to Botox. Static wrinkles, which remain even when your face is at rest, usually form from volume loss and are better treated with fillers.

Before & After

The Treatment Process for Dermal Fillers

Consultation

Before receiving skin injectables, we take the time to assess your facial structure and discuss your goals. This step helps determine which products and techniques will work best for your specific concerns. Whether you’re looking to smooth wrinkles, restore volume, or enhance certain features, we customize the approach to provide balanced and natural-looking results.

Injections

The injection process is quick, usually taking less than 30 minutes. A fine needle is used to place the product exactly where it’s needed, whether targeting wrinkles, adding volume, or refining contours. Some formulas contain lidocaine to minimize discomfort, and we can also apply a numbing agent if desired.

Aftercare and Recovery

Following treatment, some swelling or redness is normal, but these effects should resolve within a few days. Most patients can return to their usual activities right away, though we recommend avoiding any heavy exercise or excessive sun exposure for the first 24 hours. You should also stay away from extreme heat such as hot tubs or saunas for the first day or two. Facial massage should also be avoided after dermal fillers, and make sure to keep your skin clean with gentle products rather than harsh exfoliants.

Botox Lip Flip

Neuromodulators typically last three to four months before muscle movement gradually returns. Dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on the formula and treatment area.

Neuromodulators begin working within a few days, with full effects appearing after about two weeks. Dermal fillers provide immediate volume, though mild swelling can mask the final results in the first several days.

Most adults looking to improve facial wrinkles, volume loss, or contouring are good candidates for injectables. These treatments are suitable for a wide range of skin types and can be customized for subtle or more noticeable results. If you have certain medical conditions, allergies, or skin sensitivities, we may recommend an alternative approach.

You can combine Botox with dermal fillers to treat different aspects of facial aging in the same visit. Using both together allows us to create smoother skin and more defined features without looking overdone. We always adjust the plan to fit your facial structure and treatment goals.
