This state-of-the-art medical equipment repairs sun-induced skin damage, acne, age spots. It is a popular treatment because it is effective, affordable, and non-invasive.
A narrow spectrum of light is transmitted through a handpiece which is gently placed repeatedly over the area of skin being treated. Cut-off filters in the handpiece change the wavelength range allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions. The heat from the IPL destroys the dark lesions below the skin. The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue and promote collagen production giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
Photo Rejuvenation can often significantly reduce pigmentation issues such as brown spots, discoloration, or spider veins for a long period of time.* However, the procedure does not stop the skin from aging, so it is possible that new wrinkles or blemishes will appear over time. For this reason, some patients choose to undergo IPL therapy multiple times over a period of several years.
Photo Rejuvenation is ideal for people who have pale to medium or olive-toned skin and wish to refine skin texture and even out skin discoloration. Photo Rejuvenation is not suitable for darker skin types since melanin is one of the primary targets.
